Who sees what

Your immediate family sees the tree by default.
Distant relatives see more only when your family shares it with them.
Living people’s details are protected; children are hidden from anyone outside close family.
A relative can be marked private, so only their closest family sees them.

No ads use your family’s information.
Download the whole tree as GEDCOM any time, so you are never locked in.
Anyone can ask for their own details to be removed; the record becomes a private placeholder so the family’s links still hold.

Changes from distant relatives arrive as suggestions for close family to approve.
Every change is kept in history and can be undone in one click.
Profiles can be locked so only suggestions are accepted.

No. Trees are private to your family by default. Nothing about your relatives appears in search engines.

Only relatives who have passed away, or living people who chose to be findable, are matched with other families’ trees, and linking needs approval.
